Alferetta M. Barkley

Alferetta M. Barkley, 91, of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA died at the Manor on Tuesday (September 20, 2016) morning. She was born May 12, 1925 in Clymer, PA a daughter of the late Homer and Halley Barkley. After graduating from Marion Center High School Alferetta moved to Emporium and began working at Sylvania where she worked for over 40 years. She later worked at the former Grove House for several years. She had been a member of the Rich Valley Wesleyan Church. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. Survived by one daughter, Dorothy Reed, Emporium; 2 Grandchildren, Ruthie (Kenneth) Burkhouse, and Brad Reed and three Great Grandchildren, Kelly Kimberly & Trevor She preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Halley Barkley and five brothers, Ted, Ernie, Jack, Dick & Bill Barkley. There will be No Visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Short, Pastor, First United Methodist Church, officiating.
