Calvin Hugar, 91, of 7838 University Garden Dr., Winter Park, Florida also a resident of Driftwood, PA died in Winter Park, Florida Friday (January 27, 2017) evening. He was born December 24, 1925 in Karthaus, PA a son of the late James and Marie Askey Hugar. On June 28, 1952 in St. James Catholic Church, Driftwood, PA he married the late Eunice Rougeux Hugar. Mr. Hugar graduated from Clearfield High School. and Lock Haven State Teachers College. He served in the US Army Air Force with the 98th Bomb Squadron in the Pacific Theatre during WW II. He was a retired school teacher retiring from the Cameron County School District where he taught for many years. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Driftwood. Survived by one son, COL (RET) James L. (Carol) Hugar, Lewisberry, PA; two daughters, Marie E. (Jerome Woods) Hugar, Dunnellon, FL and Jacqueline H. Hugar, Winter Park, FL; four grandchildren: Monica Mancini, Robert, Ned and Alex Hugar, two great grandchildren: Patrick Baker and Rebekah Hugar; one brother, Merle Hugar, Clearfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marie Askey Hugar, wife, Eunice Rougeux Hugar; brother, Kenneth Hugar; sister, Donna Hugar and a step sister, Elsie Askey. Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Friday before Mass from 10:00 - 10:45 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated, following the visitation, at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA at 11:00 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant. Celebration of Life Service will be held in mid-February in Orlando and in July in Driftwood. Please Contact a family for details. Burial with military rites will be at 3:00 PM in the Keewaydin Cemetery, Frenchville, PA.
