Ella Mae Gribble

Ella Mae Gribble, 85, of 507 Brookview Rd., Galion, Ohio formerly of 409 Meadow Rd., Emporium, PA died at Galion Pointe Nursing Home, Galion, Ohio on Friday (September 23, 2016) morning. She was born March 25, 1931 in Sinnamahoning, PA a daughter of the late Bruce and Gladys Summerson Bailey. On March 24, 1951 in the Sinnamahoning United Methodist Church she married the late Harvey Gribble. Mrs. Gribble graduated from Emporium High School in the class of 1949. She retired from the Cameron County School District where she worked for over 30 years. Ella Mae and her husband Harvey enjoyed dancing and danced with the Alley Kats Square Dance Club for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Emporium, PA where she taught Sunday school for over 18 years and was a lifetime Deconess & was active in the Womens Mission Society. She was a volunteer at Guy and Mary Felt Manor and had been a member of the Manor's Ladies Auxiliary. She was a long time volunteer with the Cancer Society and had been a boy scout den mother for both of her boys. Ella Mae found great love and enjoyment from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Since residing in Galion, OH she attended Grace Brethren Church for the past two years. Always desiring to share God's love, her legacy and her love for the Lord will live forever in the lives of those who knew her. Her smile and laughter brought great enjoyment to so many. She is survived by son, Terry Gribble and his wife Leigh, Galion, OH; Daughter-in-law, Susan McLean Gribble, Emporium; 5 Grandchildren, Tommy and David (Megan) Gribble, Tiffany (Dan) Vroegop, Tim (Kate) Gribble, and Lindsay Gribble; one sister, Maxine Weinhardt, Williamsport and several dearly loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Bruce and Gladys Summerson Bailey; husband, Harvey Gribble who died June 8, 2005; son, Thomas Gribble, Sr. who died Sept. 10, 2010, brother, Joe Bailey who died Sept. 3, 2011. Visitation in Ohio will be at Grace Brethren Church located at 1055 Winchester Rd., Galion, OH on Sunday from 3:00 - 4:00 PM with a memorial to follow. Visitation in Pennnsylvania will be at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth St., Emporium on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church 424 N. Broad Street, Emporium, PA on Wednesday (September 28, 2016) at 10:00 AM with Rev. Paul R. LeVan, officiating. Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA Memorial Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Memorial Fund, 424 N. Broad Street, Emporium, PA 15834
