Carol J. Smith, 69, of 307 Carson St., Emporium died at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys on Sunday (February 5, 2012) morning.
She was born August 31, 1942 in St. Marys a daughter of the late Paul and Viola Bennett Lewis. On September 7, 1963 in First United Methodist Church in Emporium she married Frederick Smith, who survives.
Mrs. Smith graduated from Emporium High School. She and Fred were married over 48 years. Years ago she worked at Sylvania in Emporium and had been a member of the Guy and Mary Felt Manor Auxiliary.

Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Conklin, Pastor, Christian Missionary & Alliance Church, officiating.
Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
Burial will be in the Rich Valley Cemetery, Emporium.

Fred, Tammy, Tracy and Shelley, Rusty and Kathy...our thoughts and prayers are with all of you through this ruff time. God has taken Carol to be with him, and stop her suffering. He is a God of Love and Strength, and will be there for each of you! I have such good memories of Carol, growing up with her and playing Kick-the-Can on the corner as youngsters, watching her girls grow up with her, and watching her with her grandchildren. She always had a smile on her face treated the people around her in a caring and loving way! Rest in Peave Csarol...we will all miss you!

I only meet the family once but I love how everyone was so open to everything. I am very sorry to hear that Carol had past. Her grand-daughter is my best friend and I am very sorry that I could not be there. My family and I are giving our condolence to the family. She will be dearly missed.
