Mary Ellen Nelson, 92, of Papillion Manor, 610 S. Polk St, Papillion, Nebraska formerly of Emporium died at Papillion Manor, Papillion, Nebraska Wednesday (July 11, 2012) evening.

She was born May 12, 1920 in Kersey a daughter of the late James and Ethel Edwards Huston. On July 8, 1961 she married the late Lamont Irwin Nelson.

Mrs. Nelson lived in Emporium most of her life and lived at Silver Creek Terrace in St Marys PA for 5 years, before becoming ill. In June she came to Nebraska to be cared for by her daughter and finished her life in Papillion Manor in Nebraska in the loving care of her daughter and grandchildren. She was the first in her family to graduate from high school. Mary worked for over 20 years at Sylvania. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Emporium where she served many years as a Sunday school teacher and Deaconess.

4 Brothers: Norman, Thomas, Francis and Edward Huston
There will be No Visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service  at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church Sizerville Road, Emporium on Monday, (July 23, 2012) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Conklin, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium.

Marjie, My condolences to you

Marjie, My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your mother. She was a very dear lady and a blessing to many. I will miss hearing from her at Christmas. May God comfort you at this time.

Marjorie: So sorry to hear about your mother. She was a very dear friend to us and a wonderful Christian lady. She was a great Sunday School teacher for Ruth and Mark. They learned a lot from her. She will be missed. May God Bless you and your family at this time of sorrow.

Margie and family: you are in my prayers and thoughts as I recall the wonderful, gentle lady that blessed all who knew her. She is now with her Savior who she loved and worshiped.

Marjorie, So sorry for your loss, I will always have good memories of your mom from when I first met her when you & Tonya played together, to when she befriended Dorothy who rented on Sycamore St, to some visits at her home. She was a lovely lady. I'm sure you'll miss her greatly. God be with you and your family.

I remember Mary as a great

I remember Mary as a great Sunday School Teacher and a kind and caring person. She was a role model for me in my teen years and I am sorry to hear of her passing, but am rejoicing that she is in the arms of her Saviour! I pray that you can take comfort in that she is home!

Margie, Sorry to hear of your Mom's passing, but now she is in a wonderful place! I remember when I began music ministry at CMA that she said she had been praying for someone like me. Also, I remember that she bought choir books for the choir one time. She was a wonderful Christian and had the gift of encouragement.
