Charles Sarokon Obituary

Dr. Charles Sarokon (83) passed away Monday (29 January 2018). He was born on January 29, 1935 in Sagamore, PA to Nicholas and Anna (Sherry) Sarokon, and preceded in death by his parents and all seven siblings.
He attended Shannock Valley High School in Yatesboro, PA graduating with the class of 1952. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) with a B.S. in Chemistry and a M.S. in Math & Physics; followed with a PhD in Education at the University of Montana (Missoula, MT) in 1972.
He married his wife Joan (Flickinger) in 1957 while in the Army at Aberdeen, MD. His love of the outdoors, hunting, and fishing brought him to Cameron County and a teaching position at C.C.H.S. in 1958. After obtaining his doctorate, Chuck transitioned to a curriculum director position at the Intermediate Unit #9 (Smethport, PA) until his retirement in 2000.
He is survived by his wife Joan, son Chuck, daughter Karen, and grandson Ian
