Dessie L. Lininger

Dessie L. Lininger, 91, of 324 West 4th St., Emporium, PA died at her residence on Monday morning. (October 9, 2017) She was born August 14, 1926 in Renovo, PA a daughter of the late Reuben and Edna Steckenfinger Scrimshaw. Dessie served with the US Army 14th Medical Group during WW II. She retired from PA Pressed Metals in 1976 where she had worked for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Olkosky-Jessop Post #194, Emporium, PA She is survived by a son, Robert "Speedy" Lininger and his wife Carol, Emporium; daughter-in-law, Donna Lininger of Glendale, AZ; four grandchildren: Rob, Paul, Loretta & Heather and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Edna Steckenfinger Scrimshaw; two sons, Richard Lininger and a son in infancy; two sisters, Larue Harger & Twila Welsh and three brothers, Sylvester, Marvin & George Scrimshaw, Please come and Share in a Time of Remembrance at the Miller-Raffaele Post #6221, VFW, 427 E. Third Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday, November 18, 2017 beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Christine Groeger, officiating. A Military Service provided by the Cameron County Memorial Detail will follow. Burial will be in the North Bend Cemetery, North Bend, PA In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 6221, 427 East 3rd Street, Emporium, PA 15834
