Orvis F. "Skip" Gardner, 69, of 7079 Third St., Driftwood, PA died unexpectedly at his camp in Driftwood, PA Friday (June 30, 2017) morning. He was born October 14, 1947 in Bellefonte, PA a son of the late Orvis P. and Dorothy I. Pepperman Gardner. He married Patricia Houtz Gardner, who survives. Mr. Gardner graduated from Bellefonte Area High School. He served with the US Marines during the Vietnam Era. He was a retired self employed contractor. Skip was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Sinnamahoning Sportsman Club. Surviving in addition to his wife Patricia Houtz Gardner are a daughter, Sheila Gardner, Ocala, FL; son, Michael Gardner, Coudersport; several Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren, two brothers, Robert Gardner, NC and Jim Gardner, Coalville, PA; one sister, Barbara Hopkins, Coalville, PA; He was preceded in death by his parents, Orvis P. and Dorothy I. Pepperman Gardner and several, brothers and sisters, No Visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday (July 8, 2017) at 10:00 AM with VFW Chaplain, officiating followed by a Military Service by the Cameron County Memorial Detail. Burial will be in the Mix Run Camp Property, Driftwood, PA
