Walter K. Engle

Walter K. Engle, 86, of 477 Portage St., Emporium, PA died at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie on Monday afternoon. (January 15, 2018) He was born June 29, 1931 in Reynoldsville, PA a son of the late Arthur and Irene Ellenberger Engle. His wife of over 67 years, Gloria Plyler survives. Walt graduated from Reynoldsville High School in the class of 1949 and then he served with the US Army during the Korean War. He worked various factory jobs including GKN where he worked for many years. He also owned a lawn mower repair shop in Emporium. He loved woodworking, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Richard (Sally) Engle, Liberty Township, OH; daughter, Cindy (Gus Savage) Engle, State College, PA; five grandchildren: Christy, Chad, Lisa, Kimberly & Todd; twelve great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Irene Ellenberger Engle; two daughters, Sally Burfield and one in infancy, five brothers, one sister. There will be No Visitation. Services will be Private at the Convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Reynoldsville Cemetery, Reynoldsville, PA Memorial Contributions may be made to the Emporium Volunteer Fire Department, 419 N. Broad St., Emporium, PA 15834
