Allen R Baker, 74, of Emporium, PA passed away, following a lengthy illness, at UPMC Cole, Coudersport, PA on Monday afternoon (May 6, 2024) with his loving wife by his side. He was born July 23, 1949 in Waynesburg, Ohio a son of the late Clair and Frances Dennis Baker.
Allen was married in Emporium to Darlene Housler, who survives.
He graduated from Cameron County High School and then served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Alltel where he worked for many years before he retired in 2004. He enjoyed Golfing and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Darlene and a brother, Dennis Baker (Mary), Austin; several nieces and nephew including, David Herbstritt, Austin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert Herbstritt and William Baker and a sister, Dorothy Jean Baker in infancy.
There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at the Free Methodist Church, 240 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday (June 1, 2024) at 12:00 PM with Pastor Mary Ann Hockey, officiating. A Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
Burial will be in the Moore Hill Cemetery, Emporium, PA
