Carol Olay

Carol Olay, 71, of East Third St., Emporium, died unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday morning (April 17, 2021). She was born May 8, 1949 in Cameron, a daughter of Jean Shreffler Burfield of Cameron and the late James Burfield, Sr. On September 2, 1978 in Cameron she married the late Edward Olay.

Carol was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Emporium Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her mother Jean Shreffler Burfield of Cameron; a daughter, Beth (Chuck) Hepfner and a son Gary (Mary Grace) Olay, both of Emporium; daughter, Tina Minor, St. Marys; two grandsons: Chad Olay, Brady Hefner; four granddaughters: Cora and Ava Olay, Tiffany and Brandi Minor; brother, James (Shannon) Burfield, Jr., Emporium; sister, Lona (Dan) Klase, Duncannon; brother, Jeffrey Burfield, Dover, PA.

In addition to her father and husband she was preceded in death by A brother, Joseph Burfield.

Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Joseph Short, Pastor, First United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 PM.

We are only permitted to have a limited number of people in the funeral home at a time. Please limit your stay during the visitation so we can accommodate all who wish to pay their respects. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are required.

Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium.
