David Hornung, 52, resident of Bel Air, MD passed away on January 4, 2013. He was born on September 2, 1960 in Emporium, PA a son of Bernard Hornung of Emporium and the late Thelma Fackender Hornung. He was a graduate of Williamsport Area Community College and a valued member of the Smucker Natural Foods Company where he has worked for over 18 years. Dave was an avid baseball card collector and sports fan who loved his Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles. More than the love for his sports, Dave loved his family. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father to both of his children.
Dave is survived by his wife, Lisa Cummings Hornung, two children Justin and Rachel Hornung, his father Bernard Hornung of Emporium, PA, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim & Lynda Williams of North East, PA, nephews Derek Williams of Elkton, MD and Ryan Williams of Arlington, MA along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Thelma Fackender Hornung and twin sisters Jane and Jill Hornung that passed away at birth.
Family & friends will honor David’s life at the family owned Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services-Bel Air, 3 Newport Drive (Rt. 23 & 24), Forest Hill on Monday, January 7th from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. with funeral service immediately following.
Visitation will also be from 5-8 P.M. on Tuesday, January 8th at Barnett Funeral Home in Emporium PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, Emporium on Wednesday (January 9, 2013) at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor as Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mark Catholic Cemetery.
