Debra Jo Sterley, 70, of 113 W. 5th St., Emporium, PA passed away at UPMC-Altoona Hospital, Altoona, PA on Tuesday morning (February 15, 2022). She was born January 7, 1952 in St. Marys, PA a daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie Vallimont Sterley. Debra's father Joseph passed away when she was a young girl and her mother married William Sweet who helped raise her along with her mother. She was married to Ron Armstrong of Emporium, PA

Debra Jo Sterley, 70, of 113 W. 5th St., Emporium, PA passed away at UPMC-Altoona Hospital, Altoona, PA on Tuesday morning (February 15, 2022). She was born January 7, 1952 in St. Marys, PA a daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie Vallimont Sterley. She graduated from Cameron County High School in the class of 1969. After school she attended and graduated from beauty school in Olean, NY. She retired from GKN where she had worked for many years. Deborah enjoyed her children and grandchildren and one of her favorite things to do was to bake cookies with them and attend the many events that they happened to be involved in. She enjoyed watching crime scene shows on television, talking with friends and catching up on the many things going on in their lives. She was often referred to by her kids friends as “mom”.

She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Ramsey (Garrett), Emporium; son, Brent Armstrong (Stuart), Mary Ester, FL and two grandchildren: Evan and Kay.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step father, William Sweet.

There will be No Visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Friday (February 18, 2022) at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ted Slater, officiating.
