Delia Ann Wheaton, 85, of Emporium, PA, passed away Saturday evening, March 14, 2026, at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys, PA. She was born September 17, 1940, in Jackson, California, a daughter of the late Perley H. and Pearl Miller Emery. She was married to Amos L. Wheaton, who preceded her in death in 2011.
Mrs. Wheaton was employed at Motor Coils Manufacturing, Sylvania Electric, and the Cameron County School district, from which she eventually retired. Ann was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Emporium and the Emporium Senior Center.
For years she maintained an active social schedule. She was an avid bowler and member of the Sylvania league and a member of the Women of the Moose.
She will be fondly remembered for her creativity. She was gifted in sewing, gardening, crocheting, and painting, and was eager to share her knowledge with others. The beautiful things she created are precious keepsakes in the homes of her family and friends.
She was tirelessly devoted to her community and volunteered regularly at the senior center where she became a fixture. She served the Cameron County SPCA, having a special love for animals and cherishing the companionship they brought to her life and to the lives of others.
She is survived by her children, Sherry (Joe) DeLucia, Emporium; Jeffrey Imboden, Saukville, WI; and Paul Wheaton, Emporium; a step-son, William Wheaton, Spokane, WA; grandchildren Mark, Michael, Beth, Anne Marie, Kristen, Stephen, Heather, Kyle, Eric, Kara, Alex, Parker, PJ, Brittany, and Gabby; twenty great-grandchildren; siblings, Donald (Bonnie) Emery, Warren, PA; Barbara Akins, Emporium; Caroll (Dave) Smith, Fredericksburg, MO; Dolly Slusarick, Emporium; her brother-in-law George Mathar, Carthage, NY; and sister-in-law Linda (Fred) Manginell, Emporium.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son; a step-daughter, Amy Wheaton; a granddaughter, Courtney Standeven; a great-granddaughter, Avery Irlbacher; two sisters, Pearl Kline and Donna Mathar; two brothers, Samuel Emery and Chester (Bonnie) Emery; and her faithful companion and beloved dog Diego.
Visitation will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA, on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 3:00–3:45 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 PM with Rev. Brian Sheldon, Pastor of Faith Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA.
