Donald Benedict Obituary

Donald E. Benedict, 88, of 123 W. Fourth St., Emporium, PA died at his residence, Emporium, PA on Wednesday afternoon (May 19, 2021) surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 23, 1933 in Wilcox, PA a son of the late Sue Benedict. On October 4, 1958 in St. Mark Catholic Church he married the late Mary Patricia "Pat" Brennan.

Don graduated from Emporium High School in 1952. He served with the Army Reserves for several years. He retired from Sylvania where he worked as a tool and die maker for over 38 years. He also worked for Sizerville Park for over seven seasons. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church.

He is survived by three sons, Andrew (Lois) Benedict, Booth Bay Harbor, ME; Paul (Marie) Benedict, Sterling Run and Michael (Lorraine) Benedict, North East, PA; two grandchildren: Adam and Katelyn; four great grandchildren: Hannah, Brennan, Connor and Grant.

Don was preceded in death by his mother and his wife. Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday (May 22, 2021) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant.

Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA where a Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cameron County Ambulance Service, 299 E. Second St., Emporium, PA 15834, or Cameron County SPCA, 678 South Mountain Rd., Emporium, PA 15834 or to the Emporium Senior Center, 105 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA 15834
