Douglas M. Cook

Douglas M. Cook, 64, of Emporium, PA passed away in his home following a brief illness on Sunday morning (January 19, 2025) surrounded by his wife and his children. He was born on September 3, 1960 in St. Marys, PA, the son of the late Lee C. and Bessie Priest Cook. On June 29, 1990, he married the love of his life, Cynthia J. Guido, who survives. 

Doug graduated from Cameron County High School in the class of 1979. Following high school, he was an owner and operator of Cook Trucking alongside his father. Doug worked so hard for his family and continued driving truck for over 41 years. Doug had a love for motocross, playing the lottery, yellow watermelon, and Five Guys burgers. He enjoyed his evenings rubbing his wife's head and watching their favorite shows together. He loved spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren. 

In addition to his wife Cindy, he is survived by a daughter, Lauren Zajkowski (Robert), Culpeper, VA; three sons, Douglas Cook (Tiffany); Jonathan Cook; and Jacob Cook, all of Emporium; 7 grandchildren: Karen, Payton, Madelyn, Kaison, Cooper, Eli and Quinn; his mother and father-in-law, Mary Jane and Fred Guido, Emporium; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sheryl Surat and a brother, Lee Joseph Cook.

There will be no visitation and the services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery in Emporium, PA.
