Dwayne M. Hopwood, 64, of Emporium, Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday morning, December 25, 2025, at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, Pennsylvania. He was born September 27, 1961, in Philadelphia, PA, a son of Norma Waters Hopwood of Emporium and the late William H. Hopwood, Jr. On a day that forever changed his life, Dwayne married the love of his life, Danielle Burke, who survives.Together they shared many cherished years filled with love, family, and devotion.
Dwayne was a graduate of Cameron County High School in the class of 1979. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic, his dedication to his family, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, and son, and his family was always at the heart of everything he did. Those who knew Dwayne will remember his kindness,
quiet strength, and the genuine care he showed to those closest to him.
In addition to his mother and wife, Dwayne is survived by his children: Mark Hopwood (Jamie) of Arizona; Heather Chagolla (Josh) of Arizona; Lindsay Vaughn (Channing) of Arizona; Kenneth Burke (Sydney) of Pennsylvania; Victoria McWilliams (Dallas) of New Hampshire; Andrew Lippert of Pennsylvania; and Rachel Lippert of Pennsylvania, and Andrew "Chase" Kamats, of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Also surviving are his brother, William H. Hopwood III (Donna Mae) of Emporium, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition, Dwayne was preceded in death by his father William H. Hopwood, Jr.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with Father Matthew Ryan officiating.

Dwayne will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
