Esther O. McKimm

Esther O. McKimm, 88, of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, PA formerly of Emporium died at Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, PA on Tuesday evening(November 5, 2019). She was born May 9, 1931 in Emporium, PA a daughter of the late Clarence and Orvetta "Betty" Gribble LaPolt. She married the late George R. McKimm who died in 1996.

Esther worked at Sylvania for many years and later worked at Olivett’s Sure Fine and the Guy and Mary Felt Manor. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the VFW Auxiliary. After she retired she enjoyed traveling with her friends.

She is survived by a step-daughter, Laura (Tom) Tarr, Emporium; step-son, George (Jackie) McKimm, Rock Hill, SC; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi Gworek, Buffalo, NY and Alice Schwab, Emporium. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son in infancy; three sisters, Thelma Rankin, Ruth Berry and Ethel Haynes, two brothers, Lester and Robert LaPlot.

Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Friday from 3-4 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 PM with Rev. James R. Horton, Jr., Pastor, First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA.
