Jean M. Winslow

Jean M. Winslow, 86, of 1 West Sixth Street, Emporium, PA died at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, PA on Monday afternoon (March 11, 2019). She was born March 8, 1933 in Emporium, PA a daughter of the late Francis and Grace Gontaro Winslow.

Jean was a lifelong resident of Emporium. She graduated from Bradford School of Nursing as a registered nurse and later received her bachelors degree from Shippensburg State College. She served as a school nurse at Cameron County Schools for many years. She also worked many positions as a state nurse until her retirement.

She is survived by a sister, Kathryn Newton, Buffalo, NY; brother, Jim (Loretta) Winslow, New Hampshire; several nieces and nephew including her nephew and caregiver Joe Winslow and Sara Weaver of Emporium. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Al Winslow.

The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. 4th St., Emporium, PA on Friday (March 15, 2019) morning from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor of St. Mark Church, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA.
