Jettie R. Bickford

Jettie R. Bickford, 92, of Conway, SC formerly of Emporium, PA died at Pruitt Health Care, Conway, SC on Tuesday morning, June 16, 2020 
She was born July 30, 1927 in Gary, Indiana a daughter of the late Roy and Martha Bair Logue. On September 20, 1947 in Coudersport, PA she married the late Kenneth Bickford.


Jettie was a lifelong resident of Emporium until the death of her husband in 2013 when she moved to South Carolina to be closer to her children. Jettie graduated from Emporium High School in 1945. While in school she began working at Sylvania supporting American troops in WWII by preparing much needed supply boxes. She worked at Sylvania until the birth of her first child in 1949. She devoted her life to her family and raising her children. She was an avid reader of Christian romance novels by Grace Livingston Hill, Tracy Peterson, Coleen Cobble and many others. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Emporium. 


She is survived by a son: Glenn "Bick" Bickford, Murrells Inlet, SC; daughter: Kristi (Michael) Volk, Conway, SC, five grandchildren: Mathew (Bruxanne) Bickford, Amanda (Zoli) Asztalos, John Volk, Jennifer Volk, Jeffrey (Linh) Volk. Two great grandchildren: Anna Asztalos and Evan Bickford, sister: Lois Vanwhy of Coudersport, a brother: Dick (Mary Jane) Logue of Sinnemahoning. 


She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Martha Bair Logue, husband, Kenneth Bickford, sister Phyllis Hudson, brother Jack Logue and daughter in law Judy Bickford.


There will be no visitation or service.

 Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Austin, PA
