John T. Howard, III

John T Howard, III, 85, of 8327 Rt. 155, Port Allegany, PA died at his residence on Monday morning (June 18, 2018) following a brief illness. He was born October 30, 1932 in Washington, D.C. a son of the late John T. and Ellen Foster Howard. On June 30, 1989 in Bryn Mawr, PA he married Janet Litka Howard, who survives.

John retired from Philadelphia Electric Company, as a foreman, after over 40 years of employment. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting. John always enjoyed raising animals and as a younger man raised Arabian horses. After moving to McKean County in 1991 he and his wife enjoyed life on the farm. They raised sheep and alpacas on Thorn Apple Farm and truly loved the life they made.

Surviving in addition to his wife Janet, are his two sons, John (LuAnn) Howard, Barto, PA; and Mark Howard, Lancaster, PA and a daughter Kathy Howard, Pottstown, PA; brother, Alan (Rhonda) Howard, Philadelphia and a sister, Phyllis (Francis) Burke, Drexel Hill, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be No Visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Thursday at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert as Celebrant.
