Kathi M. Gibbs

Kathi M. Gibbs, 77, of Emporium, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, September 17, 2025, at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys, PA.

She was born January 20, 1948, in Port Allegany, PA, a daughter of the late Eugene and Kathryn E. Means Mullin. On November 28, 1969, in Farmers Valley, she married the late Joseph R. Gibbs, with whom she shared many years of love and devotion.

Kathi was a graduate of Port Allegany High School and went on to complete business school in Corning, NY. She later studied English composition at the University of Pittsburgh. She retired as a longtime secretary with Emporium Hardwoods. A gifted writer, Kathi authored and published three novels and even made an appearance in the film Unstoppable. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family.

She is survived by three sons, Kirk (Jill) Gibbs, Brett Gibbs both of Emporium and Kevin (Rose) Learn, Erie, PA; three granddaughters, Kierra (Jason) Schwab, Alora (Levi) Clark, and Jennifer Gibbs; two grandsons, Zachary and Jeremy Learn; 5 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Debb S. Lee, Kelly Mullin, and Carole Hill.

In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Maureen “Reenie” McCarty.

At Kathi’s request, there will be no visitation or services.
