Kenneth Coveney Obituary

Kenneth E. Coveney, 71, of 10 1/2 East 6th St., Emporium, PA died at his residence, Emporium, PA on Friday, May 29, 2020 morning following a lengthy illness. He was born August 3, 1948 in Coudersport, PA a son of the late Viall A. and Irene Alden Coveney. Ken was a lifelong resident of Cameron County. He attended Cameron County High School until 1965 when he joined the US Navy and served 2-1/2 tours. In the 1970's he toured with many rock bands of the era doing the lighting and sound for the shows. During the 1980's & 1990's he worked a carpenter. He was a co-chairman of the Big Flag Committee and a life member and Past Commander of the Miller-Raffaele Post 6221, VFW, where he also served on the board of directors, and a member of the American Legion in Coudersport. He is survived by two sons, Terrence Coveney, Morganton, NC; and Kenneth Coveney, Emporium; daughter, Katrina Heather Coveney, Pasadena, MD; five grandchildren; brother, Thomas Woolslayer, Erie; and a close friend Jeannie Garrigan, Emporium. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Viall Allen Coveney and Franklin Coveney, There will be no visitation. A graveside military service will take place at Newton Cemetery on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
