Norma Reed Obituary

Norma M. Reed, 88, of Beechwood Rd., Emporium, PA passed away at Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, PA on Friday night (September 16, 2022) following a lengthy illness. She was born May 13, 1934 in St. Marys, PA a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth Gerber Herzing. On July 16, 1955 in St. Marys she married the late Burton L. Reed.

Norma graduated from St. Marys High School in the class of 1952. She retired from Sylvania. She enjoyed Church, reading, working jigsaw & crossword puzzles, and watching mysteries. Her favorite baseball team was the Brooklyn Dodgers. She loved her family...there was nothing she wouldn't do for them.

Norma is survived by two sons, Gregory L. Reed (Sheila), Emporium and Scott Reed (Maureen), Santa Fe, NM; "daughter," Charlene Snelick (Greg), St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a twin sister, Irma Stanish as well as eleven other sisters including, Ethel Dolan, Bernetta "Bea" Herzing, Eleanor Green, Louise Duffield, Angela Reed, Loretta Jones, Martha "Honey" Herzing, Theresa "Dolly" Herzing, Ann Knarr, Delores Eichmiller, and Elizabeth "Betty" Bankovich; three brothers, Frank, Benedict "Sonny" and Peter "Buddy" Herzing,

There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Wednesday (October 5, 2022) at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant.

Burial will be in the Moore Hill Cemetery, Emporium, PA.
