Paula J. Cherry, 69, of Emporium, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday (October 11, 2025) afternoon, following a lengthy illness, with her loving family by her side.
She was born June 23, 1956 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Homer F. and Alora Wilson Grimm. On November 24, 1984 she married John “Dave” Cherry, who survives. She is also survived by her stepmother, Twila Lyon Grimm of Emporium.
Paula was a member of the Johnsonburg Legion Auxiliary, Post 501. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and caring for her home. Paula especially loved family gatherings, where her warm smile and kind heart made everyone feel welcome. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and devotion to those she loved.
In addition to her husband and stepmother, she is survived by daughter, Penny Cherry (Brian Harmon), Emporium; son, John Cherry (Shannon), Allen, TX; daughter, Erin Hogan (Jason), Pittsburgh; daughter, Jimmielee Cherry, Somerset, PA; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sister, Darlene Buchanan (Warren), Bradford; brother, Jody Grimm (Linda), Aurora, CO; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Brett F. Grimm.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
