Obituary
Sarah M. Yount, 79, of St. Marys, PA formerly of Emporium passed away at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, PA on Sunday morning (August 20, 2023 ). She was born May 13, 1944 in St. Marys, PA a daughter of the late Charles and Katherine Hart Griffith. She was married to the late Ralph Yount.
She graduated from Emporium High School and retired from GKN where she worked for many years. Years ago she was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her companion, H. Larry Caton, Emporium; a son, Kurt Whiting, Emporium; step-son, Jeff Yount, Rhode Island; step-daughters, Chris Andrews, Emporium; Donna Shaffer, Emporium; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and step grandchildren; and a sister, Leona Knarr, Bowling Green, FL.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Nye Whiting; two brothers, Roy Griffith and David in infancy; sister, Mary Ellen Grovanz.
At her request there will be no visitation or service
Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA
