Thomas J. Cleary, Jr.

Thomas J. Cleary, Jr., 89, of Emporium, PA passed away at Penn Highlands DuBois, DuBois, PA on Friday evening (January 17, 2025). He was born February 10, 1935 in Emporium, PA a son of the late Thomas J. and Julia Hout Cleary.

Tom graduated from Cameron County High School and served with the US Navy from 1956 through 1960. He retired from Cameron County School District where he worked for many years and also was a bus driver for over 38 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 990, Emporium, Christabelle Club, the VFW and St. Mark Catholic Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Joey Lynn Bloom, Clearfield; three grandchildren: Noah Bloom, Clearfield, Isaac Bloom NSA Bethesda, MD, Eva Bloom, Mercyhurst University; sister, Mary Laughlin (James), Zelienople, PA; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Kotzbauer and a sister, Kathleen Clark.

Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E 4th St., Emporium, PA on Monday from 4-6 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Tuesday (January 21, 2025 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant. A Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.

Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA.
