Rev. Dwight F. Simpson, 73, of Hagerstown, MD., formerly of Emporium, PA., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.

Born on February 19, 1938 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Lewis F. and Anna Virginia Lee (Feaster) Simpson.  He was a graduate of Bedford Area High School in Bedford, PA.   He served the people of Cameron County and he was the Pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Emporium and Down County Baptist Church in Driftwood for 25 years.  Previously he pastored in Bedford, PA.  Along with his loving wife, Anna Marie, they served Churches in Pennsylvania for over 35 years.

Dwight was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie (Tipton) of 54 years.  He is survived by his daughter Donna Rose and husband Steven of Hagerstown, MD.  Sons, D. Randall Simpson and wife, Sheri of Hollidaysburg, PA., Brian Simpson of St. Marys, PA., and Brent Simpson and wife Idalee of Hummelstown, PA.  His grand-children, Daniel and Nathan Rose of Hagerstown, MD, Brandon and Zachary Simpson of Hollidaysburg, PA, and Emma Grace, Grayson and Abram Simpson of Hummelstown, PA.  He is also survived by a foster brother, Claude Darr and wife Leslie of Reisterstown, MD.

A Memorial Service will be held at The First Presbyterian Church, 205 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11:00 am.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Church.  The Rev. Steven Rose, son-in-law, will officiate.

Farewell good friend. I will

Farewell good friend. I will truly miss you. I looked forward to our weekly visits where you always enjoyed hearing about my soul winning experiences. You have always had a tremendous heart for souls and rejoiced every time you heard about a salvation experience. I can picture you in Heaven celebrating with the Angels every time a soul is saved. You are now in a much better place and we all look forward to joining you in God’s time.

Where do I begin...Rev.

Where do I begin...Rev. Simpson has been a part of my family (life) for many years. As a young adult he prayed with me, he listened to me, he quided me into being the person I am today!! I owe him for so much in my life, thank you Rev. Simpson and Anne Marie...I will never forget our long talks and your inspiration, you truly were (are) the person I always longed to be. To all his family, smile a sweet smile, because you know he is smililing down on all of you and he and Anne Marie will always be your guardian angles!

So very sorry for your loss. Your father, as you know, was loved by so many! He had the heart of Christ and helped so many people. He always put a ray of sunshine in my life anytime I saw him. May you all be blessed with peace and strength during this difficult time.

We dearly loved your dad, and your mom, too. They were special people indeed. Noone will know the enormity of Pastor's influence until we get there, (with Anna Marie right beside him thoughout it all) but he knows now! Your dad is reaping his eternal reward in a mighty way, I can almost hear the sounds of Heavenly music and rejoicing... wow, what a party -him and all the happy souls he tirelessly worked to lead into the Kingdom! We are sorry to say we did not know your Father personally, but know everyone in Cameron County loved him! God has called home one of His faithful servants. God Bless you all at this time-RIP Rev. Simpson!

Your family is in my thoughts

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Reverend Simpson used to visit my Grandmother every week. She enjoyed his visits. HEAVEN is rejoicing to have him home. Rest in peace thy good and faithful servant.

Our deepest sympathy for your loss. Your father/grandfather was a most amazing man. I treasure all of the memories that I have him as he carried out God's plan. There is truly a celebration happening in heaven as the saints welcome him to his heavenly home. Keep the memories and treasure them in your hearts.

To the Simpson family- so sorry to hear about your dad. Even though this is a difficult time even for us. Knowing that ur mom & dad are there with my mom makes this a little easier. I am sorry for your great

I am sorry for your great loss; he is now a blessing in Heaven. I remember his faithful visitation to the husband of a friend of mine. The man had a long fatal illness; Pastor Simpson visited regularly, even though the man did not attend his church.

Donna, Randy, Brent and

Donna, Randy, Brent and Brian, we send you and yours our deepest sympathies. What a wonderful man he was. He touched my life from the very start and in my eyes will never finish as he left me with so many fond memories that I will always carry with me and a lot of advice along the way. He is now in a wonderful place that he preached about for many years along side your wonderful Mother, Annie. May the memories you had as a family follow you through the hard times and give you strength. May God Bless!

We met Rev. Simpson when he was involved in the Operation Christmas Child (shoebox) program. He was always so pleasant and you could feel the strength of his faith radiating from him. May he rest in peace.

Rev.Dwight Simpson, He had such an easy gracious way about him and he made everybody feel they were special to him.I know he always made Joe and I feel that way.This is-and will be-so hard.We hope all the years of love and happy memories will be a comfort to all.All our prayers and sympathy are with you all now and always. Pastor Simpson just entered

Pastor Simpson just entered into the place he preached and longed for, HEAVEN! He is seeing Jesus face to face. Can you imagine both the tears and huge smile on his face!!? By now he's being greeted by all the folks that he led to Jesus on their death beds. My what a reunion and yes there is Anna Marie! No more sorrow, no more pain or suffering but in the eternal rest, ever at peace! Cameron county has truly been blessed by this man of faith, to me a hero of faith! God has truly left His mark on all of us that knew Dwight!

Dwight was a great influence to all who knew him! Especially to those here in Emporium. He was and will continue to be missed in a mighty way. May your family find peace knowing he is where he preached about and longed to be :)
