Russell J. "Butch" Andrews, 73, of 174 Valley View Rd, Emporium died at UPMC-Hamot Medical Center, Erie on Wednesday (August 1, 2012) morning.
He was born April 20, 1939 in Hughesville, PA a son of the late Russell and Ruby Brown Andrews.
On September 22, 1960 he married S. Jane Fackender Andrews, who Survives.
Mr. Andrews graduated from Cameron County High School in the class of 1957 and then  served with the US Navy from 1957 to 1963. He retired from Norfolk Southern railroad, in 2004, where he was a foreman for many years. He was president of the Russell Hollow Hunting Club. He was the cook for many years at the Drum and Henry Fishing Derby, and helped extensively with many of the programs put on by Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities, especially the programs held at Andrews farm. He was a member of the Bucktail Rod and Gun Club, National Rifle Association and Quality Deer Management. He was also a member of the VFW in Emporium. Butch was a avid hunter and enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors. He mostly enjoyed spending his time outdoors in the Salt Run area where he grew up on the family farm and learned to hunt and fish.

There will be No Visitation.
Memorial Service will be held at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Sizerville Road on Saturday, (August 18, 2012) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Conklin, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Portage Township Cemetery, Emporium, PA
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cameron County Ambulance Service, 299 E. Second St., Emporium, PA 15834

I'm so sorry about Butch.. I

I'm so sorry about Butch.. I loved that guy.. he always made me laugh and loved to pick on me.. i'm gonna miss him.. stay strong u guys! thoughts and prayers are with u!!

To the Andrews family, Our sympathies to you following the loss of Butch. My mother, Louise Brown Kaehler, was first cousin to Butch. Over the years at family reunions and later when my brothers and I bought the camp in Betula that was once my grandfather's ( Charles Brown), we really enjoyed talking with Butch and hearing stories of the great northwoods. We will miss him dearly and will always have a fond memory of him and his parents, Ruby and Russ, who passed away before him. Our sympathies to all of the family. Joe Kaehler

So sorrry to read about Butch's passing... We went in the service together on the buddy plan, but that lasted till we got off the bus. Will miss seeing him at the class reunion in September but we will surely be thinking of him ... Take care ...RH

So sorry to hear about Butch passing. Whenever anyone was around him there was always a lot of smiles and laughter. He was a quiet and active volunteer for many youth activities and his shoes will be hard to replace. We will surely miss him.

I so miss listening to Butch

I so miss listening to Butch and Bill Milton talk, or should I saw yell, at each other. The stories, the language, well I don't have to tell you, you know what I'm talking about. I have to laugh thinking of them two now. Heaven won't be the same with them two up there. What a great guy Butch was. I have fond memories of him. My prayers to all of his family.
